Teams

An account can have teammates, as on ngrok: they see and run its endpoints, domains and traffic, while billing and the team stay with the people who should hold them. Invite them under Identity & Access → Members.

Roles

  • Owner — the account’s creator: everything, including deleting the account.
  • Admin — everything else: billing, usage limits, inviting and removing people.
  • Member — endpoints, cloud endpoints, domains, Traffic Inspector and devices; not billing or the team.

Seats

Pay-as-you-go includes 3 seats, the owner counted, and each one after is $5 a month — there is no cap.

  • A seat is the owner or a member who joined. An invitation costs nothing until it is accepted.
  • A month is billed for the most seats the team had in it, each for the whole month — adding someone and removing them the same month still counts them once. Seats are calendar months, like the rest of usage.
  • The extra seats are a line in the month's usage, paid from the $20 credit first and billed with any other additional usage at the end of the month — so they count toward a spending limit too.

Joining and switching

The invitation goes by e-mail; the teammate signs in with that address (or creates an account with it) and lands in the team. The account name at the top of the sidebar switches between their own account and every team they’re in.

Agents in a team

Each teammate has an authtoken of their own for the team, shown under Your Authtoken while the team is selected. Agents started with it run in the team’s account:

$ devgate config add-authtoken <your token for the team>

Removing someone from the team revokes that token; their agents go offline within a minute.

Questions people actually ask

Whose plan and usage does a teammate use?

The account’s. Endpoints a teammate starts belong to the team account, count toward its endpoint limit and usage, and appear in its dashboard; nothing lands on the teammate’s own account.

How many people can join?
